Puerto Galera: White Beach and Talipanan Beach, 2015

Image
The quiet side of Puerto Galera, Talipanan Beach. Taken in front of Mountain Beach Resort. (c)FayeHusena This trip was supposed to be a solo trip, the "soul searching" type but I thought why not invite a good friend to travel with me, my best friend! It was our first time to travel together after being best friends for more than 15 years now! Plus she tagged along her boyfriend with us. It was less than a week to prepare but thank heavens for all the detailed blogs I got to read that I was able to do a D.I.Y. trip for us. We woke up extra early to catch the 3:30am bus to Batangas Pier. I did not want us  to get stuck in the Manila traffic and the long lines (just in case there would be any). I actually failed to sleep well the night before as I was very excited to go to Puerto Galera plus this is my first time to travel with my bestfriend! Haha!

Bolinao, Pangasinan (November 2014)

Image
Patar Beach (c)FayeHusena This is a late blog post about our lovely trip to Bolinao, Pangasinan. It was supposed to be a group getaway but unfortunately our friends backed out. Nonetheless, I had this feeling that my boyfriend and I should still go even if we have to travel by bus. I made a good decision, indeed! Our trip to Bolinao was one of the best trips of my life!!! (The trip happened last November 29-30, 2014) How we went there: There are several bus lines that go straight to Bolinao, Pangasinan. We decided to ride via Five Star in Cubao. One way trip costs P490+ per person . We were able to ride at around 6:00am but since it was a weekend, seats were almost full and we sat at different areas of the bus. (Good thing, the guy seated beside me loaded off at the first stop over. Yey! I couldn’t have enjoyed the five hour trip if I wasn’t seated beside the person I know.) Anyway, we arrived at the Five Star terminal in Bolinao almost 11am. Passed by the Church

Twin Rock Beach, Catanduanes (2015)

Image
Panoramic Shot of Twin Rock Beach Front! It's a bit cloudy but nonetheless, it still is beautiful. (c)FayeHusena Who would have thought that I will be able to go to Catanduanes? Haha! I was not even aware where Catanduanes was since I have only heard its name during my geography classes in high school and college.  This province is known as the "Land of the Howling Wind" because storms usually passes by its way. Thank God I did not encounter any storm while I was here and just a cloudy day with few rains on some parts of the day, but that's all. :)  Note: This trip happened last January 2015. Sadly, I had no time to explore the whole Island because I went here for a business trip. :( Anyway, I should be back to explore many many more places in this beautiful province.  HOW TO GET THERE: The fastest way to get here is to take a direct flight via Cebu Pacific, this might be costly though so you better wait for more affordable flights during seat sal

Calaguas, Camarines Norte

Image
Watching the majestic sunset. (c)FayeHusena A paradise, waiting for anyone who would visit the virgin islands of Calaguas. Mahabang Buhangin can be found in Tinaga Island, that is just one of the major islands of Calaguas. Prepare your camping and backpacking stuff as this Island offers nothing but its beautiful powdery white sand, trees and small huts that will serve as your temporary shelter from the sun. Sunset Photoshoot (c)FrancisRala This is probably the best birthday celebration I ever had! Celebrating it by the best beach I have ever been to with the people I love most! Will keep this as a photo blog - so to know more of how to arrange your trip to this Island you can contact the organizers directly! :) (P.S. Our Trip was organized by my friend Francis Rala of Calaguas Tribe Tours. You may visit their site here:  http://calaguastribe.weebly.com/ ) From morning till afternoon it might get a little too hot since there are not lots of shades you can hide

Cagbalete Island, Mauban, Quezon (2014)

Image
*Summer is over! Late Post for our Cagbalete Beach Trip :) The Sun is screaming Summer Heat and it is pretty much unbearable with the Global warming that is happening now. But of course, if you can't beat the heat, better hit the beach! ;) Here's a quick review of one beautiful beach that can be found only a few hours away from Manila,  Cagbalete Island .  HOW TO GET THERE: I would love to share how easy you can get your way to Quezon but just by using Google Maps or Waze you will not get lost (turn on that GPS!!) especially if you are bringing your own car :) If you would want to know how to get there via public transportation, I will be linking detailed blogs at the end of the review. Once you get to Mauban, Quezon, you can leave your car in several parking spaces for rent before you make your way to the port. Lucky enough, our chosen resort (Dona Choleng) have their own parking space and it is free of charge! :) From there you can ride a tricycle t

Potipot Island, Candelaria Zambales (Summer 2014)

Image
(c)FayeHusena However cliche' it may sound, true enough, love is sweeter the second time around. Fairly my second time to this beach made me fall in love with its sand and waters once more. Trust me, this place will never disappoint. :) It may get a little crowded at one side of the beach when its summer but the whole island is spacious enough to accommodate more. WHY POTIPOT ISLAND IS A MUST SEE THIS SUMMER: Panoramic Shot of the uncrowded part of the beach located at the far side of the Island. (c)FayeHusena 1. It is only a 4-6 hour drive away from Manila (Private) . I believe it usually take longer hours if you travel via public transportation. No worries though, because the road to Candelaria, Zambales offers a nice scenery! Best to travel early in the morning to avoid the traffic and the scorching heat of the sun! :) Tree House at the Island Proper 2. Get to the Island proper within 10 minutes only - that's a quick boat ride! We drove all th

Caramoan Islands, Camarines Sur

Image
View from the top! We visited Caramoan Islands in March, summer of 2013. I can definitely say that this is one of the best beaches I've been to! Here are our photos! :) Taking a photo of one of the boats in the Pier before heading to Caramoan Proper. Arriving at Caramoan Mainland. We rode a Tricycle that brought us to our Inn. Island Hopping at its finest!! :D Matukad Island. The beach which has the finest sand. This is our first stop. You can trek in here to see a better view from above! :) Lahos Island Group Shot! Lahos Island Groups Shot #2! This Island is remarkably unique! It is almost sunset and we still cannot get over taking pictures. :)) On our way back to our Inn. Day 1 was tiring but it was all worth it. (I did not include some photos from other Islands we visited.) Baging Beach is the other side of a two-sided beach. Here you can find rare flat rounded shells with the shape of starfish at one side. ;) I think it is where starfish
